Sound Production

Insisting on the best; making quality management an integral part of the manufacturing process; using components with the Gold or Silver Line seal of quality—these are the reasons why our pianomakers proudly identify themselves with their product. C. Bechstein has had many suppliers over its 150-year history. From this perspective, no supplier’s name is an absolute benchmark. Instead, all of our suppliers must attain the same standard of excellence that C. Bechstein sets for itself.

Appearance

C. Bechstein is a synonym for longevity: the instruments are built to last for more than a generation. Century-old C. Bechstein pianos, including those on which Liszt, Wagner, Brahms and the Menuhin family used to play, arrive at our restoration workshop in Berlin from nearly every country in the world. These pianos have withstood considerable strain over decades of musical service, and braved the hazards of transport, climate—and even world wars.
